London Day 2

Our second day in London...
We hopped on the bus to Madame Tussaud's to meet tons of famous people. The most important of all... One Direction!  So, we pre-purchased our tickets to avoid the insane line from yesterday that literally went down the block!  (The line was over two hours and that was just to buy the tickets!!!)  Today we still had to wait about ten minutes but that was muuuuch better!

Once inside, we all pushed and shoved our way through the crowds to snap pics with our favorite celebrities.

Grandma and Grandpa with an Oscar statue.

My dad with Tiger.

Me n me mum wif the royal family.
Poor Prince Phillip, always being upstaged.

Bates Motel...moo ha ha!

Julia Roberts and I have been besties for ages.

Shawn, Nicholas, and Arrrrrrnold.

Wolf, Nicholas Wolf.

Nicholas wanted to know, "Who is this guy?"  Have I not done my job as a parent?! Just sit down and let me take the picture. I'll explain it later.

"Mommy, who's this guy?"

"And who is this guy?"

Finally someone he knows! (I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.)

And then to visit the crime filled streets of London.

Toward the end if the tour, it was time for a 4-D Marvel Superhero show. Nicholas's Spidey senses were tingling!

Nicholas Wolverine.

The Hulk!!!

Captain America with a mini Spider-Man.

Robocop protecting me lad.

When we got to the end and were being directed to leave by way of the store...where was One Direction?!  Did we miss them?  Where were they?  Can we go back through? Oh, no! ???  After asking a docent looking chap, we learned the terrible news:  1D was on loan!!  Oh dear. Really?!? We held our breath, eyed Summer, waited for ???  (Tears? Fainting spell?  Slumped shoulders?  Pouty face?)  We all just let out a massive collective sigh and proceeded on our tour...dejected. =(

Trafalgar Square has a section devoted to contemporary art. No more pigeons to feed since a giant blue beast had come to roost. Pretty but odd.

Perfunctory mailbox photo.

And then on to Saint Paul's Catherdral. We all got audio tours and tried to keep somewhat together yet still have our own spiritual experiences.

Summer and I walked all the way to the tippy top! 524 steps!
At the first outside level.

Our audio tour explained that the builder used a scientific reason to make the rotunda appear in a certain way for the church goer. However, he wanted the catherdral to look more impressive from the outside. To accommodate for the difference, there is a "void" between the outer roof and inner dome. That is the area where we passed through to get to the upper outermost viewing deck.

Massive old timbers with updated modern wiring. Don't mind the cracks.

At times the path was so narrow that Summer had to duck and just barely fit!

(Insert angels singing here.)

Almost there....

Haaaaallelujah!

Still a wee but away from the very tippy top but this'll have to do. No one was allowed up to the lightning rod.

And if all that wasn't enough, we did the London Eye for a cherry on top.

Under the metal arch of whatever that is is Shawn and Grandma who chose not to go. My mom is wearing a reddish top.

The cherry on top still wasn't enough for our precious princess.  So, to appease the lack of 1D at the first stop, we chose to dine at Nando's...Louis' favorite restaurant in London.
