From my 10 year old son...To get to England: Go to Rhode Island and go right. Pass the ocean, there will be some other states. It's near Europe and Italy, and stuff. |
So, since December of 2013, I have been working my darndest to bang this new book out. Having plenty spare time while watching and waiting for softball and baseball games and practice, I am proud to say that as of the third week in June, 2014, I had only three puzzles left to solve.
I like to write a little notation on each page to help me remember where I was and/or what I was doing while working on this task. Then, I think that it is kind of fun to look back over these before chucking this thing in the recycling bin. And that is THEE MOST WONDERFUL FEELING!!! Ahhh! Liberation! Free at last...Thank God Almighty! I'm free at last!
Here's the recap:
I started this puzzle book in the car while we drove across the state to visit my folks and attend my mom's 75th birthday party. (It was a surprise party that my dad arranged.) Three hours across the state on the way over, three hours across the state on the way back.
On the way to Vero to celebrate mom's 75th surprise birthday. |
During the car ride we were talking about our upcoming trip to England. Nicholas (10 at the time) chimed in that he suspected how the air plane gets to England is by going to Rhode Island and turning right. I wrote that down because it was so funny and silly and like Nicholas to make a quirky statement like that.

Truth be told: We will be going to Rhode Island and turning right!
Back to the recap. Naturally, Summer, my daughter, chose the dog puzzle to do.
My 12 year old daughter completed the dog themed puzzle. |
Fast forward to April. I completed about third of this book while I was home sick on my birthday and for a few days after that.
Home sick on B-day...complete with sad face. |
This puzzle was in May, at what I thought was going to be Summer's last softball game for the season. Well, lo and behold...there was a "Tappy Tournament" and then softball camps and practices and scrimmages AND THEN...All Stars! Here we are on June 29th and the final All Star game has finally come and gone. Whew!
On the way to Summer's last softball game [of the season]. Fitting words...MILITARY, ADJUTANT, COUP, DIVISIONS. |
And then...RAGE!!!! A TYPO!!! WTF?!? Who makes a word search book, publishes it, puts it up for sale and doesn't have an editor check for typos!?! Aaack! I about died! And on a word like "WOODS"?! That's an easy one. Inhale. Exhale. Turn the page.
A TYPO!? While completing the golf greats puzzle, I just could NOT find "WOODS" and then finally looked it up in the back to find that it was indeed a typo! |
ANOTHER TYPO!?! |
